elegant high-quality furniture. In which, we use the best materials, tools, machines, and an
exclusive finishing and design process, that we will be completing and developing in future articles. Mother nature provides us with a wide variety of timber species, only one can presume of having the most beautiful and unique wood grain "Juglans Regia L” or
Spanish walnut.
In order to provide outstanding and top-quality furniture, the ArtesMoble brand adds to the best know-how of the Spanish Cabinet-making, the most beautiful wood. In this way, All visible sides (outside and inside) of our furniture designs are coated with Spanish walnut wood, together with the robustness and nobility of the beech wood, that is present inside the structures, moldings, and carvings, make up our furniture. According to the model, the piece can be ornamented with other noble materials, such as stainless steel, brass, bronze, and tempered glass, complete with
our exclusive finish process.
Our Spanish walnut wood designs work on different boards, according to their location and design, they can be arranged on beech wood, high-density boards, anti-humidity plywood, and particle board.
The manufacture of all the furniture of our firm, takes laborious and previous design work involving from the workshop manager, to the commercial network, event decorators, architects, and loyal customers, who will bring their ideas, thoughts, and tastes. Finally, the design team of ArtesMoble, rewarded with a furniture design award, will be responsible for selecting and materializing the different proposals, which must comply with two fundamental premises, harmony and furniture viability.
Once sketched and agreed on the design on a plane, we proceed to draw in natural scale with its different sections and assemblies to manufacture the prototype, we will use specialized tools from a carpentry workshop in that manufacture, such as:
Main tools to measure and sketch the design to natural scale: pencil, tape measure, the set square, the awls, the marking gauge, the compasses.
Once drawn the furniture with its different sections, we must organize the extensions and expansions of sections and lengths of existing planks and boards. As a consequence of the sawing of trees and boards, the joints must guarantee stability, robustness, and total firmness of the furniture. According to the furniture design, other sections should be worked on in other auxiliary workshops.
Main assemblies; half-lap joints, tongue, and groove joint, through dovetail joint, box joint, and biscuit joint, among others.
Main guided, shaped, and polished cutting tools: Mortising chisel, dovetail chisel, carving chisel, files, rasp, blades, iron plane, sandpaper.
Main drill tools: awls, augers; bits, brace, screwdriver, drill.
Main tools of percussion and extraction: hammer, mallets, pincers, pliers, nippers, drift punch
Main portable machines: miter saw, drill, sander, milling machine.
Main fixed machines or workbench: The band saw; circular saw, planer machine, thicknesser, multipurpose milling and drill woodworking machine "tupí”
In a worked state, each piece is assembled to form a high-quality piece of furniture. The Assembly of all pieces is a laborious and orderly work, where according to plans and design, it entails tongued and grooved, assembly, gluing, and building the furniture, depending on the type of assembly. Assemblies provide the furniture firmness and stability, which ensure its high quality.
To join together the different sections of the furniture and depending on the model, we use different assemblies and pressure tools.
Main assemblies: box joints, half lap joints; Angle pin and biscuit joints, half-blind dovetail, rabbit
Main pressure tools: strap clamp, wood clamp, installation clamp.
Among the different processes entailed in the manufacture of furniture, we highlight the «matched» the grain of the Spanish Walnut wood, on tops, sides, drawers, extendable leaves, doors, and interior, which according to its design and pattern, it prolongs the wavy grain patterns of the Spanish walnut wood.
According to design, our pieces of furniture are decorated with bevel miter, flat miter, carvings, curved moldings, straight moldings, cavetto moldings, other moldings, and marquetry.
The furniture is completed with German, Spanish, and Swiss top quality hardware, such as the full extraction glides, drive systems "push and pull”, concealed hinges, eccentric systems union, brass cranks, stainless steel parts, the exposed bronze wheels, and other wheels in nylon, which are hidden to facilitate the movement of the furniture and protect it from possible damp.
When manufacturing of the unpolished furniture has been completed, it will be subjected to our complex, and
exclusive process of finishing, which pursues to enhance the beauty and sleekness of the wavy grain patterns of the Spanish walnut wood. Most importantly for all good woodwork to stand out, is an excellent finishing. You can have pieces of furniture with stylish designs and first quality materials, but if they don't have a perfect finish, all the effort employed in their manufacturing would be lost.
