There is a background and team work behind any staging of exhibition where the highest quality is top of the list specially for Furniture and Decoration Fair. From this blog we want to share our professional vision by teasing out what happens behind the scenes before a Fair.
In the furniture sector, firms generally launch new collections at least once a year. In this way, high-end firms such as ArtesMoble present new collections once a year, in contrast to lower quality furniture manufacturers of high industrial development that have the capacity and need to take out new collections in shorter periods of time. In any case the new designs, manufacturing processes and finishes are rigorous. Nevertheless, we can perfectly differentiate a ratio between the quantity of novelties and the quality of the furniture.
In our case, the work begins a year before the fair when the design team, always attentive to needs of the catalog, trends, finishes, news, and opportunities absorbs all the information by shredding all the ideas to turn them into illustrated images on graph paper. Further, the design team approves and passes the sketch to the master craftsmen to manufacture the new design without alterations. During the development phase of the prototype, there is a continual push and pull between progress and overcoming handicaps. The entire process gives shape a superior piece of furniture, that stands out in proportions, ergonomics and functionality of the initial sketch to end up on the final manufacturing template in real scale.
Parallel to this activity, another team gives shape the stand where the novelties will be presented to the clients and furniture specialized press. This team must establish the continent and the content of the stand always under supervision of the Stand Project Manager and Seniors Executives.
For the Continent we can count on sector companies that can build the booth, there is a large possibility that the same stand will be used itinerant for several fairs. This work is responsibility of the sector company, but the guidelines are established by the firm, which should mainly indicate:
- The exterior decoration and interior walls, paint, vinyl, fabrics, ...
- The decoration of the floor, carpet, platform, colors ...
- The plug location
- The location and type of lights.
Regarding the Content we can count on the Design and Commercial Teams, they will decide where to accommodate the products by taking into consideration the following points:
- The location of the pieces
- The stand access and circulation
- Fabrics (if there were upholstered elements).
In order to maximize the potential of the fair event, the Press Department should promote before, during and after the fair the following materials:
- Newsletters.
- Business cards
- Brand promotion material.
- Decorative vinyl advertising
The Office and Commercial staff should also check other indispensable elements such as:
- Computers
- Contact forms
- Proformas
- Business cards
- Delivery notes ... to the minor details sucha as pens, erasers.....
The Manufacturing Department must meet the date of departure of the different pieces of furniture that will be exhibited in the stand, previously arranged by the Logistic Department who should prepare in advance all the documents for departure and picking the furniture up from the fair.
Finally, the Human Resources Department must have reserved the hotel, transfer and return for the staff (assembly team, sales team, professional interpreters, hostesses ...
As you can see the resources that firms use to attend a fair are significant, in this way, the level of coordination to make the Fair a worthy event is very demanding.
